BIO

Leslie Goldman is a multi-media artist who works primarily in paper. She is interested in investigating organic and decorative forms from a feminist perspective. She also enjoys exploring poetry and language. After receiving her MA in Art History from Boston University and teaching for 20 years, she received her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She continues to teach Visual Art at The Newman School in Boston.

My work is an exploration of language and image, pattern and light. Books that would otherwise be discarded are given a new life. The page is cut to add depth and light and to create organic forms out of a rectangular format. Patterns are used to obscure or reveal text or image. It is a celebration of the decorative and the poetic.
